About Lou Carberry
During my time studying my BA in Art and Design and my HNC/HND in Contemporary Art Practice course at Forth Valley College I have developed a wide range of skills. Such as fine art and contemporary style drawing, casting, mould-making, working with negative space and found objects to create installations.
This year I am continuing with my study's at Stirling University to gain my BA(Hons) diploma in Art and Design. Using this time to further develop my studio practice alongside my academia.
I am interested in exploring wide ranging topics relating to political concerns, mental health and environmental issues. As a young artist living within a society with a strong potential for change, I believe it's my duty as to highlight these issues within any means I can.
In my work I draw on personal experiences and opinions to create and evoke strong emotional responses in the viewer. Creating mutual feeling allows me to connect with those viewing my work even if I am not present.
My emerging practice focuses on spreading awareness on current issues I feel are important and need brought directly to attention of the public realm.
